Police make three drunken driving arrests

Gainesville police arrested three drivers for driving drunk early Wednesday morning, including one UF freshman.

Cedric Manns, 31, was pulled over just after midnight for following too closely behind another car and consequently failed field sobriety tests. He was given a Breathalyzer test and blew over the legal limit of .08 at a .202, according to GPD reports.

Jessica Hull, 29, was stopped for driving in and out of her lane on Northwest 13th Street at about 2:30 a.m. Hull blew a .149 when tested, the report stated.

Shannon McCarthy, a 19-year-old UF freshman, was pulled over at about 4 a.m. for driving the wrong way down Northwest 13th Street and also failed her sobriety tests. She blew a .234, about three times the legal limit, according to the report.

Manns, Hull and McCarthy were all taken to Alachua County Jail and charged with driving under the influence.
