Wednesday’s endorsement for attorney general was the worst endorsement yet in the series of political endorsements.

The editorial wasted half the page attacking Bill McCollum, who isn’t even on the ballot. It spent the rest swooning over Dan Gelber’s vague and flowery stances on “protecting children” and “taking on Wall Street” sans any substantive policy proposals, with a few lines mischaracterizing Pam Bondi’s positions whilst speculating on what you feel she will do peppered in.

Maybe, if you did your journalistic duty, you would contact her campaign about her stance on “protecting children” instead of claiming she has no stance because you were too lazy to go beyond skimming her website. Maybe you would have seen that Bondi has been a tough and successful prosecutor in Tampa and has real-world experience going after criminals and defending citizens.

Meanwhile, Gelber has spent the last decade in Tallahassee biding his time for a higher office.
