Welcome to Orange and Blue Chips, the alligatorSports recruiting blog. I'm Tom Green, the recruiting beat writer for the Alligator.
This place may look unfamiliar to all of you. As it should. It's something new for us here at alligatorSports, too.
In the past, we know our recruiting coverage hasn't always been at the top of its game — kind of like the Gators' offense this season.
That's changing, though. This semester we wanted to put more emphasis on recruiting, because we realize how much people care about it. As a wise man once told us, there are two ways to succeed on the internet: porn and covering recruiting. We're not in the business for the former, so we thought we should step our game up in the latter.
You may have noticed an increase in the paper's coverage of recruiting — mostly football, so far — since the end of summer. This blog is just another step in increasing and improving our coverage and keeping you, the readers, in the loop about the latest UF recruiting news.
And that will be the goal here at Orange and Blue Chips — to stay on top of Gators recruiting and provide news, insight and analysis in a way alligatorSports hasn't done in the past.
I'll be posting here as often as I can, so feel free to stick around, leave comments and ask questions. We here at alligatorSports hope you enjoy the new edition to our corner of the internet.
