Columnist Chris Dodson makes an inaccurate point about Congressional lame duck sessions in his Monday column.

To say it is against the will of the people for members of Congress to continue working after they have been voted out of office is simply incorrect.

It is the people exactly who chose to elect them to their term, and members of Congress have a democratic mandate to serve their complete term.

If defeated Congresspeople stopped serving immediately after Election Day, it would deprive their states or districts of representation in the two intervening months until the next term of Congress begins.
