Florida used everyone and everything in its arsenal against Georgia on Friday night in Athens, Ga.

The No. 1 Gators (21-1, 14-0 Southeastern Conference) won their 16th consecutive match after a 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-13) win against the Bulldogs (11-15, 3-12).

The Gators had five players finish in double digits for total attacks as Florida hit .418 as a team. The Bulldogs ended the match with a hitting percentage of just .098.

Senior outside hitter Callie Rivers finished the match with a .462 hitting percentage after recording a season-high 14 kills. She also had four digs and four blocks.

“To hit .418 against a really good serving team was very impressive,” coach Mary Wise said. “I thought our passing was terrific tonight and, from an offensive standpoint, Callie was just in the zone.”

Junior setter Kelly Murphy also had double digit kills, recording 11. Murphy, who hit .474 for the match, added a match-high 22 assists along with six digs and two blocks.

Florida continued to count on the play of its big blockers. Senior middle blocker Lauren Bledsoe hit .545 with seven kills three blocks and a service ace. Junior middle blocker Cassandra Anderson hit .400 with five kills and five blocks.

Florida out-blocked Georgia 13 to five.

“Both our middles were really good tonight,” Wise said. “We just got better and better as the match went on. We were serving the ball well and they never really were able to get in a rhythm.”

This was the second time the Gators have defeated the Bulldogs this season. The Gators won 3-1 (19-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-21) in Gainesville on Oct. 17.

Florida will travel to Auburn, Ala., on Sunday to take on Auburn. The match will start at 2 p.m.
