A Santa Fe College student was arrested after getting into a fight at a Gainesville apartment complex early Saturday morning.
Nicolas Fasanella, 19, was visiting The Estates apartments on Southwest 20th Avenue, when he got into an argument with UF student Leland Jones, according to the Gainesville Police report.
As the fight escalated, Fasanella got physical and punched Jones straight in the jaw, the report stated.
According to police, Jones’ face was swollen when they arrived on the scene at about 1:50 a.m.
Fasanella admitted to his role in the fight.
Fasanella is charged with a first-degree misdemeanor of simple battery.
He was released 3:45 p.m. Saturday on his own recognizance.
Jones was not charged in the incident.
