As stereotypical as a trip to Cancun in college sounds, it's still a great Spring Break locale.

This week, Punxsutawney Phil gave us the heads up that we'd be enduring another six weeks of winter. But let's be honest here, Florida hasn't had a winter day in weeks. So instead of planning for a weekend getaway at the slopes, it's time to start looking for great Spring Break deals — it's less than a month away!

Book your first cruise

There are a number of deals out there that will allow you to choose your cruise destination, number of nights and time of trip.

We've found some great trips to the Bahamas, the Caribbean and Mexico at www.cruises.com. You can also find some others at www.carnival.com and www.royalcaribbean.com.

Take a road trip

Although Gainesville doesn't offer very many Spring Break-esque destinations, there are many places located only hours away that will feed your need for some hot Florida sun and white, sandy beaches.

We recommend some beach-y destinations like Cocoa Beach, Daytona Beach, Clearwater Beach and Miami Beach, to name a few.

Get on a jet plane

As stereotypical as a trip to Cancun in college sounds, it's still a great Spring Break locale! The same can be said for Panama City, Puerto Rico and Punta Cana.

If you're looking to get out of the U.S. for the week, we recommend searching the top travel sites such as www.kayak.com, www.orbit.com or www.expedia.com. You can book flights, hotels and rental cars all from these sites.
