The Unite Party announced its first all-minority executive candidates between classes Wednesday afternoon.

The party announced Sabine Justilien as its vice presidential candidate and Juan Rodriguez as its candidate for treasurer to about 30 people in the Reitz Union Amphitheater.

Justilien currently serves in the vice president's cabinet and Rodriguez is the current Student Body vice president.

Last week, Tj Villamil announced his candidacy to run with the Unite Party for Student Body president.

On Wednesday, he introduced his running mates. He said their goal will be to enhance the student experience in every possible way.

He also said if they are elected, this would be the first time in UF history three minorities will serve as student leaders.

Justilien, the division chair for campus life, said she was pleased that UF bore witness to an all-minority ticket on the first day of Black History Month.

Before her role in cabinet, Justilien was the assistant director of Multicultural Affairs, she said after the announcement.

Rodriguez said if he is elected, he would ensure the $5 million budget allocated to Student Government would be used properly.

Rodriguez, a former member of the Student Senate budget committee, stepped in as vice president when Anthony Reynolds left the position to replace Ben Meyers as president.

Before he was vice president, Rodriguez was working on writing guidelines to the finance codes, Villamil said after the announcement.

"I am excited to bring him back to where his expertise lies," Villamil said.
