The meme business has been starting to slow (trolls everywhere, pick it up!), but the Web still rolls on with plenty of juicy material ripe for posting. So this week we bring you the best of the Web!
First off, we know it’s an app but we have to mention it:
Draw Something
Finally an addicting game less annoying than FarmVille or Mafia Wars. Draw Something allows you to play Pictionary with a friend via an Apple or Android App. You guess your friend’s picture, then draw your own and send it over back to them.
The game is becoming an obsession, and those double-block lectures have never been more fun. The best part is that unlike FarmVille and Mafia Wars, Draw Something doesn’t clog up your News Feed. It just uses your Facebook account to connect with friends and begin games. No notification in sight.
Next up, we have a rising star among epic Tumblr pages:
WhatShouldWeCallMe
We love Tumblr pages dedicated to preventing you from ever starting that history paper. WhatShouldWeCallMe pairs a .gif (a repetitive, moving image, like a short video) with a universal emotion or feeling.
Here’s one for those lucky enough to leave early for Spring Break.
Or this. We’ve all done this.
You could spend all day going through this Tumblr’s archives relating to each and every single one of their posts. The reblog counts on these posts are insane. Be warned: Between WhatShouldWeCallMe and Draw Something, you will forget you go to college.
Use the hashtag #WhatShouldWeCallMe on Twitter to mention moments that can only be defined with a repeating 3-second clip. It’s like socially awkward penguin is behind this movement.
Lastly, we’re all suckers for viral videos, especially dumb blondes who can’t understand simple math. So we bring you:
Travis Chambers’ video of his wife, Chelsea, has become an Internet sensation. In the video, Chel struggles to figure out how long it would take someone to travel 80 miles if driving at a speed of 80 miles per hour as if her life depended on it. Her brilliant theories to solve this conundrum of a word puzzle include her personal ability to run a mile in nine minutes (considering she’s in shape) and how fast tires rotate.
Even after her husband explains to her the rocket science behind understanding that it would take an hour to travel 80 miles if driving 80 miles per hour, she still claims that Travis doesn’t make sense. How crazy it is to go over a mile a minute? The Real Meaning of MPH has racked up over 3 million viewers and has been blogged about by Internet King Tosh.0.
That’s all for this week. Keep blowing up the Internet with new trends. We know of no better way to waste a day. Happy trolling!
