Students can discuss jobs and internships at an upcoming career fair without changing out of their pajama pants.

UF’s Career Resource Center will offer its first Virtual Career Fair from April 3 to April 5. Registration opened last week, and students and alumni can sign up through the CRC website until the fair ends.

The Virtual Career Fair is hosted through virtual recruiting platform CareerEco and features 22 Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference universities.

Students of all majors are encouraged to upload their resumes as soon as possible because employers are already reviewing them.

After logging in, students will be able to select an employer and enter a chat room with that employer’s representative, as well as other applicants.

Employers can invite students to private chat rooms, and they might ask to video chat.

Collaborating with other schools creates a wider pool of employers, said Angel Iverson, assistant director for career events with the CRC.

The CRC will host an in-house Virtual Fair Kickoff on April 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the CRC Library. CRC staff will be available to help navigate the fair.

“Everything is shifting virtually,” said Dana A. McPherson, CRC assistant director for marketing and communications.
