For your entertainment: 3 things we know about Amal Alamuddin

George Clooney has married a star. Not an actor, no, but there is nothing ordinary about Lebanese-born British beauty Amal Alamuddin.

Hollywood went nuts on Sept. 27 when they finally married, praising Alamuddin, 36, for accomplishing the impossible and pinning down the longtime bachelor. We don’t know a whole lot about her, but what we do know only reinforces that she’s one special woman.

1. She’s a well-respected attorney.

Her profile on The Legal 500 says that she “specializes in international law, human rights, criminal law and extradition." She represented WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange for an extradition case and completed human rights research in the Middle East. She also advises on several foreign councils.

2. Talk about impressive. In three languages.

Alamuddin is fluent in English, French and Arabic – a product of her multicultural upbringing. She studied at New York University School of Law for her Master of Laws degree in 2001 and is well versed in many world cultures.

3. Like Clooney, she’s admired for her beauty.

A 2013 post on a “Your Barrister Boyfriend” blog named Alamuddin the hottest barrister in London, describing her as “breathtakingly beautiful and formidably successful.” Hollywood fashion critics have hailed her clothing choices in recent weeks saying her style could give the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, a run for her money.

One of the reasons we don’t know much about Alamuddin is because she has stayed out of the public spotlight. She doesn’t have time to deal with Hollywood fawning. She’s got work to do.

If there’s anything we do know about her, it’s that she doesn’t need anyone else to make her “interesting.” She’s done that on her own, and nothing but congratulations should be offered her way.
