For your entertainment: The ultimate fall playlist

Guess what? It’s October.

Although we had two or three days of slightly cooler-than-fire temperatures, we still live in Gainesville. The heat waves are ferocious and unrelenting, and the cooler days – if and when they ever get here – will probably throw us all into a mild state of hibernation.

But even though Florida doesn’t rock fall like many other places across the country, the multi-colored leaves still fall off the trees and pile on the ground; the air still becomes crisp; and the smell of fall – of which I still haven’t pinpointed the cause – greets you when you walk outside.

Old bricks studding UF’s horizon become a bit more enchanting during this time of year. Stores begin featuring warmer recipes and spicier ingredients – the Internet fan-girls over pumpkin – and everyone breaks out his or her softest sweaters. To me, the world seems to have some delicious secret.

As usual, I look to soundtrack life, so here’s my fall playlist for all of you. Whether you’re ducking about on campus in the middle of the week or getting friends together for a twilight gathering around the fire-pit, I hope these tunes rock in harmony with your version of the season and blend with the magic in the air.
