When life gives you lemons: Natural healing

Fall is probably one of the best times of the year. It brings relief from the summer heat Florida so graciously provides. It brings SEC football, during which we get to go cheer on our Gators in The Swamp.

It is a time of holiday, a time to bring family together and give thanks for all of the blessings in our lives -- not to mention, delicious pumpkin treats. But my personal favorite time during fall is the time I get to spend enjoying the outdoors.

Our campus is so beautiful this time of year. Have you taken advantage of it? Have you spent time lounging on the grass on the North Lawn, sitting in the stadium on a Thursday afternoon or studying outside in the 60 degree weather for a change? If not, I suggest that you make it a goal to spend at least one afternoon outside on a nice fall day.

Nature has a way of relieving stress, forcing you to relax. College is stressful, and the stress we put on ourselves is not healthy. It is important to take time to sit back and enjoy the life you are given.

Stop living life from exam to exam; instead live the days you have in between each exam. Make them count. You are given one life on this beautiful earth. Take time to look around, and immerse yourself in it!
