UF volleyball celebrates a point during Florida's 3-0 win against Texas A&M.

The Florida volleyball team earned the No. 8 seed in the 2014 NCAA Tournament on Sunday and will serve as one of 16 hosts for the first and second rounds of this year’s tournament.

Florida (25-3) will face Alabama State (20-18) in the first round in the O’Connell Center and will also host Central Florida (25-7) and Miami (21-8).

This year marks Florida’s 24th consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament under head coach Mary Wise.

It is also the 22nd time the Gators will host the opening rounds under Wise.

The top-four seeds of this year’s tournament are Stanford, Texas, Washington and Wisconsin. Stanford finished the regular season 29-1 and is the No. 1 ranked team in the NCAA.

Texas, Washington and Wisconsin are also among the top-5 teams in the country.

Florida finished the 2014 regular season with 20 straight wins, which included an undefeated 18-0 record in SEC play for the first time since 2010 and a five-set victory against No. 2 seed Texas on Saturday.
