McClain Kessler will be in action today at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma. 

The Florida men’s tennis team did not fare well in the pre-qualifying round of the ITA All-American Championships.

Sophomore Brian Berdusco and freshmen Greysen Cacciatore and Lukas Greif all competed the round of 256 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this weekend.

Berdusco fell in three sets to Finn Reynolds of Ole Miss. After winning the first set 6-2, Berdusco dropped the next two sets 4-6 and 0-6 and was bounced to the consolation round. Greif lost in two sets to James Trotter of Ohio State 3-6, 2-6 and also headed for the consolation round.

Cacciatore was the only Gator to move on to the round of 128 with a victory in three sets over Clement Sarradin of the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. After jumping out to a lead in the first set, he dropped the second and then swept the final set to move on. Cacciatore then lost to Josh Sheehy of Abilene Christian (1-6, 4-6) to cut his time short.

Berdusco defeated Akinora Wada of Abilene Christian in three sets (6-1, 3-6, 10-7) in the consolation round. Greif swept Sansidh Kommaraju of UT Arlington in two sets (6-0, 6-4) in his consolation match.

Sophomores Duarte Vale and Andy Andrade and senior McClain Kessler will all take the court in the men’s qualifying rounds today.
