The Space UltraLounge had its grand reopening last Saturday at their new location, 211 W. University Ave.

The lounge has new business hours: Wednesday and Thursday from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m. and Friday and Saturday from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. The manager, Nick Jason, said they decided to stay open later so people can have a place to get sober before driving home.

“I wanted to create something for Gainesville and like-minded people to have a more relaxed atmosphere to go to and safely sober up,” Jason said.

“I’ve always liked their prices compared to other hookah lounges,” said Emily Reynolds, a 19-year-old Santa Fe family youth and community freshman.

Reynolds said she has been going to the lounge since they first opened and was excited about the new location.

“This club has the sweetest owner who walks around personally checking on everyone making sure they’re doing good, and it’s awesome to see a personal touch,” she said.

The venue offers CBD edibles and smokable CBD products. The long-term goal for the lounge is for it to be the first legal recreational marijuana lounge, said Jason.

“As of right now, we are a smoking lounge that allows people who legally have either medical marijuana or CBD products and can safely smoke them within our lounge,” said Jason.
