A High Springs man called Alachua County Sheriff’s Office deputies after he accused 25-year-old Nicole Perry of stabbing him in the eye Friday night.

The man had the incident on video, which he shared with deputies. The video shows Perry and the man in a verbal argument at a residence in High Springs, Florida, according to the police report. The video shows the argument growing physical as Perry struck the man twice with a closed fist.

Perry then pulled a knife from her waistband, which she told police she got from the kitchen in an effort to protect herself. She charged the man, knife in hand, but missed her first attempt, according to the report.

Perry walked away from the man and began packing her belongings. But instead of leaving, Perry backed the man into a corner of the room, holding the knife in a threatening manner. When the man attempted to strike Perry to defend himself, she stabbed him in the left shoulder and again, just above his left eye, according to the report.

Perry gathered her belongings, including the knife, and left the residence on foot. Under questioning, Perry told deputies multiple times that she wanted to fight the man. She said while she had the opportunity to leave during the incident, she opted to stay because she “low-key wanted to hurt him.”

Perry was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, a second-degree felony. She remains in jail in lieu of a $250,000 bond.
