The Gators look to stay in the win column versus the Vanderbilt Commodores Friday

This marks the 13th matchup between the AAC foes. The last time they faced off was in May 2019 when UF defeated Vanderbilt 19-10.

No. 10 Florida was projected to clinch the conference championship with a roster full of all-conference and all-American threats. But No. 20 Vanderbilt sits at first in the conference and looks to pressure the orange and blue as they boast a 6-0 AAC record.

The Gators swept East Carolina April 1 and 3 on Thursday, which marked Florida’s 100th regular-season win at Donald R. Dizney Stadium. Similarly, the Commodores demolished the Old Dominion Monarchs in back-to-back double-digit wins.

Attacker Maddie Souza leads the way offensively for Vanderbilt with 29 goals and 10 assists. Fellow attacker Gabby Fornia, the Commodores’ leading point scorer, boasts 41 assists, more than anyone on UF’s roster.

Midfielder Bri Gross will take on Shannon Kavanagh, the AAC Preseason Midfielder of the Year, in the draw circle. Gross holds 57 wins while Kavanagh has recorded 49.

Kavanagh looks to increase her point streak to 38-games. The Smithtown, New York, native is two games away from tying Shayna Pirreca’s record of 40-straight games with a goal.

The AAC Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year, Sarah Reznick has recorded a ground ball in 14-straight games, the fourth-longest streak in the program’s 12-year history.

Both teams are coming off of the conference bye week eager to prove who’s the best in the AAC. The orange and blue possess a 101-19 record at home.

Opening draw is set for 4 p.m. at the ‘Diz. The game will stream on the Florida Gators’ YouTube channel.
