The Gators limped to the regular season finish line Wednesday at the LSU Tiger Golf Classic.

Florida tied for 12th with a total score of 33-over-par. The 54-hole tournament opened on Tuesday and wrapped up Wednesday.

Freshman Maisie Filler led the way for Florida. The Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, native finished in 34th place and carded an 8-over-par over three days of competition.

Filler turned her fortunes around Wednesday after she shot 7-over-par Tuesday. She found her swing after she sunk a birdie, a bogey and a triple bogey in her first four holes. The freshman knocked down an eagle on the par-5 third hole and a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole to finish the final round at 1-over-par.

Sophomore Annabell Fuller and senior Addie Baggarly both tied for 39th in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. After appearances at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, both Gators carded a total of 9-over-par for the tournament.

Baggarly started out hot. The Tennessee native carded 2-over-par through two rounds of competition Tuesday and tied for 18th entering Wednesday. She couldn’t keep the momentum and finished the final round with a 7-over-par 79.

Fuller saved her best round for last. After she shot 8-over-par Tuesday, the England national knocked down three birdies and carded a 1-over-par 73 in the last round.

Lauren Waidner entered the tournament as Florida’s No. 1 golfer. The senior finished the round tied for 50th and shot 12-over-par, including back-to-back rounds of 3-over-par in the second and third rounds.

Sophomore Marina Escobar rounded out the Gators lineup in a tie for 65th. She suffered a mediocre first few rounds and tallied 7-over-par entering Wednesday. The Spanish national floundered in the final round, though, and shot 10-over-par, which brought her total to 17-over-par for the tournament.

Florida finishes its spring season with one win: the Gators Invitational in February.

With the regular season now in the rearview mirror, the Gators turn their sights toward the SEC Championship. The tournament is set in Birmingham, Alabama, from April 14-18.
