Popular R&B singer Jason Derulo, scheduled to perform as part of the 100th Gator Growl Thursday night, faces allegations of sexual assault almost eight hours before his set.

Derulo, who was originally announced on the UF Homecoming and Gator Growl Instagram Aug. 28, will begin performing at 7 p.m. in the Stephen O’Connell Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. and tickets can still be purchased on the Gator Growl website

The R&B musician is known for making chart successes with songs such as “Whatcha Say,” “Talk Dirty,” and “Want To Want Me.” His most recent single, titled “Glad U Came,” was released in June.

Derulo is set to perform despite a sexual harassment lawsuit filed against him Thursday, according to a NBC News article. He faces allegations from Emaza Gibson, a 25-year-old performer and social media star who he offered a record deal in August 2021.

Atlantic Records, the label that signed Derulo, is also being blamed for “a failure to remedy workplace harassment,” according to the article.
