The Florida Gators baseball team secured its fifth transfer addition Tuesday and acquired former Hawaii right-handed pitcher Cooper Walls.
The freshman logged 13 starts and a 3-3 record in 2025. He threw 45 strikeouts in 60.1 innings while posting a 3.73 ERA. Walls’ freshman campaign earned him the All-Big West freshman of the year award in 2025.
The California native attended La Costa Canyon High School and was a top-100 right-handed pitcher nationally in 2024 before committing to Hawaii.
Walls is the third pitching acquisition Florida has made through the portal, joining former Notre Dame pitcher Ricky Reeth and former UCF pitcher Russell Sandefer.
Florida’s pitching was an issue throughout most of 2025 and logged a 7.56 ERA with a 1.76 WHIP. Five former Gator pitchers have entered the portal, including left-handed sophomore Jacob Gromberg, right-handed sophomore Alex Philpott, right-handed freshman Carson Montsdeoca, left-handed freshman Niko Janssens and right-handed freshman Felix Ong.
Walls will have three years of eligibility remaining.
