From metal tributes to EDM dance parties, every music lover can find an event to enjoy in town this week. Check out a roundup of some of the concerts and music events happening this week.

Monday, Oct. 6

The Atlantic: Rugh with Brace Position For Moment of Impact, Loris and Speed Dating at 8 p.m.

Gainesville band Rugh kicks off its nationwide tour.

Tuesday, Oct. 7 

The Ox: Cryptodira, float omen, Orca, Smink, and Ashen Hills at 8 p.m.

Metal band Cryptodira continues on its tour with metal band float omen, in support of their new EP “GENESIS OF ERROR.”

Wednesday, Oct. 8

Loosey’s: Daikaiju and the Mermers at 8 p.m.

Metal band Daikaiju is joined by The Mermers. 

Thursday, Oct. 9

The Wooly: The Rocky Horror Picture Show at 8 p.m.

The annual Fall run of the show features a live shadowcast from local actors to accompany the cult-classic movie. 

Signal: Korn Again and NIN at 8 p.m.

These two tribute bands, for Korn and Nine Inch Nails, respectively, will play famous nu metal hits. 

Loosey’s: Beeline, Tiger Sunset and Leg Biters at 8:30 p.m.

This weekly free indie concert welcomes South Florida bands Tiger Sunset and Beeline, as well as Gainesville local Leg Biters. 

The Atlantic: Homicyde, Coraline’s Collapse and Grave Filth at 8 p.m.

Charleston metal band Homicyde continues its All The Worst Stars tour.

The Ox: Long Knife, Vägra, Curleys, Wired Up and Rubes at 7 p.m.

Portland-based band Long Knife comes to Gainesville, joined by some local acts. 

Neptune House: The Mantras, Cooper, Light Ages and Hey! TV Boy! at 7 p.m.

This eclectic DIY venue, also known as “The Gnome Home,” hosts live performances from these indie artists.

Friday, Oct. 10

Signal: Daft Punk Night at 9 p.m.

This event will feature hits and deep cuts from the iconic French EDM duo. 

Heartwood Soundstage: The Bridge City Sinners with Dead On A Sunday and Joshua Quimby at 7 p.m.

The Pacific Northwest folk supergroup continues its “Break The Chain” tour. 

The Wooly: The Nancys, Buboy, Stellus and Afghan Hounds at 8 p.m.

Miami-based band Stellus joins local Gainesville artists in this indie music concert. 

Loosey’s: The Savants, Raspberry Pie and Jordan Mobley Jam Band at 8 p.m.

Southern soul, jazz fusion and dance music come together in this diverse arrangement of performers. 

The Hippodrome: In The Basement: A Music Series at 8 p.m.

This basement show features indie-pop artist Birdgirl, Rustler and The Palmettos. 

The Ox: Meatwound, Thrull, Cicadakult, Future Forms and Sandcrawler at 7 p.m.

Florida metal bands gather at this DIY venue to rock out. 

Geeks: DJ Wax Atom at 7:30 p.m.

This DJ will spin soul funk, hip hop and punk music at this vintage toy store. 

Saturday, Oct. 11

Signal: The Thing with Feathers with Driveaway and Noise Next Door at 8 p.m.

The Nashville-based alt-rock three piece comes to Gainesville. 

The Wooly: The Shitty Beatles at 8:30 p.m.

This local tribute band will play The Beatles’ illustrious catalog. 

Loosey’s: Orbiter, Trash the Rental and The Mermers at 8 p.m.

Local indie concert celebrating Loosey’s 15th anniversary.

The Ox: Toro, Post, 18th Lane and Cavities at 7 p.m.

Local indie bands gather at this venue. 

Heartwood Soundstage: Nurture Fest at 5 p.m.

Heartwood Soundstage welcomes the first annual women-centered arts and music event. Alongside other artists, recipients of the Nurture Recording Grant Sarah Hinds and Savannah Zara will perform. This grant provides studio time to women musicians with children.
