Florida men’s basketball signed 22-year-old forward Domen Petrovič, head coach Todd Golden announced on Monday.
The 6-foot-9 Slovenian joins Jones Lay, Arturas Butajevas and Denzel Aberdeen as the newest additions to the Gators heading into the 2026-27 season.
"We are really excited to welcome Domen into our program," Golden said. "He is a very skilled forward that has great positional size. He has shown incremental improvement every year, and he's currently playing the best basketball of his young career.”
Petrovič will reunite with reigning SEC Sixth-Man of the Year Urban Klavzar, after the pair represented Slovenia in the 2024 FIBA U20 EuroBasket. Averaging 9.7 points and 3.9 boards per game, Petrovič helped Slovenia toward a silver medal.
The 22-year-old also represented Slovenia in the 2022 U18 European Championship, where he averaged 5.6 points and 3.6 rebounds per outing. Slovenia ultimately finished fourth.
Petrovič’s most recent experience came with GGD Šenčur in the Premier A Slovenian Basketball League, where he averaged 16.6 points and shot 57.4% from the field, including 29.5% from beyond the arc.
This move adds to the long list of international players Golden has brought in during his time at Florida.
