Ladies are constantly thinking about beauty products. How can I smell better? What can I buy to make my hair straighter? Will this make my skin soft? Often times, we forget that guys like to groom themselves, too. Here are some products men can incorporate into their daily routine to enhance their natural assets.
Grooming Lounge, a website that offers products to keep guys in tiptop shape, recommends American Crew Daily Shampoo for a balanced and moisturized scalp. It’ll run you about $9 for 8.45 oz. Hair is very important, boys. Having a clean, healthy and well-treated head of hair is incredibly appealing to the ladies (and some gentlemen). No one wants to run their fingers through dirty hair.
Next on our list is skin. Florida’s hot weather can take its toll on our epidermises, and although that intense tan you got over the summer may look good now, it’s going to sag and wrinkle your skin when you hit 52. I won’t even mention the horrible effects it can have health-wise. Jack Black Oil-Free Sun Guard is SPF 45 and water resistant. GQ says it smells like a “summery sunscreen,” which I guess means that it has hints of tropical notes. You can protect your skin and smell like the tropics. This skin protector costs about $10 for a 2 oz. package.
As we move on to nails, I want to stress how important it is to invest in a good-quality fingernail clipper. Our hands touch hundreds of dirty surfaces on a daily basis, so it is very unwise for you to be removing your nails by chewing them off. Ace For Men Fingernail Clipper is sleek, it’s got a manly look and it even catches your nails when you cut them off. This cool tool costs about $10 and can do wonders, because, let’s face it, it’s unpleasant to hold hands with a dude who has Yeti claws for nails.
My favorite item on the list is Baxter of California Hydro Salve Lip Balm. A guy with a nice set of smackers is much more attractive than a boy with a chapped mouth. This oil-based balm will smooth your lips, and help them naturally retain moisture to prevent drying or chapping. It’s really one of the more essential items on this list, if you catch my drift. Please yourself and whoever else with this lip saver for $8.
Finally, we’ve reached the pits. Yes, no one likes to discuss them, but they are there and need to be maintained. When it comes to underarms, we all know that they either don’t smell at all or smell bad. Nickel Cold Sweat Deodorant ($19) is kept in the fridge to stay chilled, and gives you a cooling feeling that helps prevent prespiration and odor. It may seem a little weird to your roommates that there’s deodorant in the fridge, but everyone understands the need for dry underarms.
All of these products are under $20, and an investment in them could mean the difference between a respectable, well-groomed and attractive gentleman and a slacker dude.
