A semi-truck hauling construction materials tipped over driving south on Interstate 75 Friday morning.
All three southbound lanes were closed after Alachua County Sheriff’s Office received calls at about 6:30 a.m., said Art Forgey, a sheriff’s office spokesperson.
The scene was cleared and all three lanes were reopened by 10:45 a.m.
The truck brushed against one of the supports of the overpass on mile 386, which is between Newberry Road and Archer Road, and tipped over on its side, Forgey said. The trailer ripped open and spilled building materials over all three lanes.
The truck driver was taken to a nearby hospital, and his condition is unknown, Forgey said.
