Solving a UF mystery

Since March is Women’s History Month, we checked with Carl Van Ness, university historian, for help unraveling a longstanding UF mystery. What he said renewed my appreciation for the early history of women at UF – their accomplishments and struggles.

A doctor in the trenches

 At 6 feet, 6 inches, it’s hard to fit a glass ceiling on Stewart Reese. Now a graduate student entering his sixth year, the offensive lineman with dreams of anesthesiology wants to show that athletes are more than highlight reels and letterman jackets.
