In just one week, freshman Ryan Celano has gone from an unknown commodity to winning the qualifying for the Wolf Run Intercollegiate to having the best tournament of any player on the Florida men’s golf team in Zionsville, Ind.

From a young age, I was obsessed with reading. In middle school, I read to get away from the awkward social pressure surrounding puberty. In high school, I used reading to relax after a long night of studying. I read on the school bus, I read between classes, I read everywhere. Needless to say, I was kind of a huge nerd.

When 23-year-old Kira Kazantsev won the Miss America pageant last week, social media users expressed mixed emotions. Some felt her red-cup routine in the talent portion of the competition was disappointing while others admired her strong stance on raising awareness about domestic violence and ending sexual assault in the military.
