Students dressed as gorilla, banana promote event

As if Turlington fliering didn't drive students bananas already, a man in a gorilla suit chased a man dressed as a banana alongside about 170 people holding hands in a line stretching from the Hub to the Plaza of the Americas on Wednesday afternoon.

Touring global warming activists stop at Gainesville park

Some acoustic guitars, a couple of drums, a dash of disappointment in society and a sprinkle of hope for the future were served up in a Gainesville park Wednesday. About 80 people showed up for the Respect Yer Mama Bicycle Tour and punk show in Northeast Park on Wednesday afternoon. The show was organized by Jon DeCarmine around the arrival of four activists, Shannon Murray, Art Friedrich, Cylee Heart and Evan Greer, who biked over 1,200 miles throughout Florida in the past month.

In Wednesday's article that covered President Bernie Machen's town hall forum, I was appalled to see that what I said was taken out of context in order to beef up a mediocre story.
