UF plans to create an auto-free zone on campus

To accomplish the long-term goal of increasing traffic safety, the university will implement an 86-acre bicycle and pedestrian zone in the heart of campus. This project includes the construction of the Newell and Northeast Gateway projects, which will incorporate more pedestrian access into campus and a connection from UF to the city, respectively.

Local band gives back with benefit concert

The first “Helping Hands” benefit concert took place at Swamp City Gallery Lounge and was organized by the local band, RA’SBRY. The concert featured a number of musicians and vendors from the Gainesville area, and the proceeds were donated to the Repurpose Project.

The faces behind the famed Gators

Albert and Alberta Gator are symbols of UF, taking photos with students and fans, showing up to UF hosted events and embarking on city-wide community functions. The students behind the beloved characters, however, carry the spirit of the school while their identities remain hidden.
