Gators sweep doubleheader Friday

The Gators approached the Honda of Gainesville Gators Invitational hoping to right the ship after getting swept in their two previous. They did so convincingly in Friday’s doubleheader, where they only dropped one set of seven against USF and James Madison. UF (4-2) will finish the invitational on Saturday with a match against Long Beach State (3-5) at 5 p.m.  


Seven runners finished in the women's top 10 during the North Florida Invitational, including Imogen Barrett, who won the event.

Florida competes in sole home meet on Saturday

This weekend will mark the first and last home meet of the season for UF’s cross country team. The Gators will host the Mountain Dew Invitational at Mark Bostick Golf Course on Saturday morning, where they hope to impress a home crowd. More than 30 programs will compete against Florida.

Gators not after revenge

Florida has its chance for revenge a year after Kentucky marched into Gainesville and ended its 31-year losing streak to UF with a resounding 27-16 victory.

Florida opens conference play against Kentucky in just three days, and a lot has happened since the Gators kicked off the season two and a half weeks ago. Injuries have already piled up for both teams, and young or inexperienced players will need to fill in.

UCF spoils Florida’s home opener, 2-0

Florida’s soccer team began the 2019-20 campaign with five straight games on the road over a 16-day span. In that period, the Gators suffered three consecutive defeats to ranked opponents and lost junior forward Deanne Rose to a hamstring injury against then-No.5 Southern California on Aug. 29.
