The 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup is underway, and UF is represented by a current player and three former Gators. Forward and rising junior Deanne Rose, along with UF alum Adriana Leon, are representing the Canadian national team in Group E. Meanwhile in Group C, former Gators Lauren Silver and Havana Solaun are representing Jamaica.

Florida quarterback Feleipe Franks had a breakout season last year, throwing for 2,457 yards with 24 touchdowns and six interceptions. He also rushed for seven scores.

I flew into Los Angeles on Wednesday and I’ve been here for around six days now. It’s my first time here and I’ve hit all the typical tourist stops, but one of the coolest things I’ve seen on my trip came when I hadn’t even stepped off the plane: While descending to land at LAX, I got a perfect overhead view of the currently-under-construction Los Angeles Stadium at Hollywood Park, the future home of the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers.

Grant Holloway raised his arms in celebration as he crossed the line to win his sixth high-hurdle championship. The junior from Chesapeake, Virginia, never left a national championship hurdle race without a gold medal. Now he will turn professional, according to coach Mike Holloway, leaving UF as one of the most decorated track athletes in the history of the NCAA and one of the best athletes to ever come through Gainesville.
