Gainesville Goes All Out for Fashion’s Night Out

Seldom does the Devil do interviews. When she does, you better bet that she’s got a damned good reason — and that she’ll be dripping in designer. Earlier this month, Vogue magazine’s editor Anna Wintour was seen in a rare interview on NBC’s “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.” For September is when she thrives. This month’s famed September issue of Vogue is bound with 532 astounding pages of fashion. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week kicks off today. Yet Wintour was seated on Fallon’s scarlet couch cushions to, instead, promote the largest fashion party in history — and everyone is invited.

Fashion Diaries: Gainesville Fashion Week's 1st runway

As the flight attendant on the charcoal runway instructed-seat belts were securely fastened, seats were adjusted to their upright positions and the packed crowd at The Vault Thursday night was all set and ready for take off. Destination? Gainesville Fashion Week 2010's first runway event.

Denim diaries: It's back!

The jorts we made fun of and the denim jackets that we thought died with the ‘90s are back, and they’re better than ever. Dolce & Gabbana’s entire spring ready-to-wear collection donned models in different hues of denim from head to toe.  Express is advertising its “denim leggings,” and Gap has brought back the denim button-up. So, dig up those old shorts from Abercrombie & Fitch, and don’t be scared to rock your parents’ old jean jackets.

Fashion week ahead

Fashion has no limits. It’s daring, risky and of course, fabulous. Tuesday evening, Gainesville Fashion Week and CovetedList.com proved the absence of style’s boundaries with a fashion show that featured outfits fitting women of all colors, heights and body types.
