Twenty-six Florida athletes – 11 current and 15 former Gators – traveled to Eugene, Oregon, for the USA Track and Field Olympic Trials. The ten day competition starts today with the men’s 100-meter decathlon.
The No. 3 men’s and No. 5 women’s teams traveled to Eugene, Oregon, for the NCAA Track and Field Outdoor Championships. On June 8, the men’s team became triple consecutive NCAA DI Outdoor Champions for the first time in Florida’s track and field history. The next day, the women’s team kept Florida’s momentum flowing to place runner-up.
The Florida track and field team competed in the NCAA East Preliminaries in Lexington, Kentucky.
The Gators women’s team ended the three-day event at Percy Beard Track in third with 101 points. Meanwhile, the men’s team finished in fourth place with 100 points.
The Gators continued their momentum into the second home meet of the 2024 Outdoor season.
NCAA records were being shattered throughout both days at James G. Pressly Stadium. The Gators claimed three No. 1 times/distances, 11 top 10 NCAA placements and 18 top 20 NCAA placements throughout the two day event.
Florida’s strongest performances came in the field events. Senior Abraham Sargent placed 1st in the men’s javelin throw with his personal record distance of 77.46 meters. This marked 5th on UF's All-Time Top 10 List and 6th in the NCAA for 2024. Senior Melanie Welsing placed 3rd in the women’s javelin throw with a personal best throw of 30.72.
The Gators women's track and field team earned a silver medal, while the men's team secured a bronze medal at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships.
The Florida men’s and women’s track and field teams both finished second at the SEC Indoor Championships, earning 17 medals during the meet.

The Gators track and field teams traveled back to Fayetteville, Arkansas, for the Tyson Invitational, their fourth and final regular season meet of the indoor season. Part of the team headed north for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational at Boston University.
The Florida Gators competed in the two-day Razorback Invitational from Friday to Saturday in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The Gators sent 54 athletes to compete in the meet.
Valby finished in 14:56.11– a performance that is 16 seconds faster than the previous indoor collegiate record of 15:12.22, set by Emil Sisson of Providence College in 2015, and seven seconds faster than NC State’s Katelyn Touhy’s outdoor record of 15:03.12 set in 2023.
Florida transfer and redshirt senior Allison Wilson gave it her all in the world of cross country since her days as an Alabama distance runner. Wilson came face-to-face with her injuries and the decision to put a pause on her running career during the 2021 season.
UF dominated the podium at its second meet of the season with a first place finish for the men in 39 points and a second place finish for the women in 42 points.
After a two week hold on the season, Florida Gators running made their Fall 2023 debut on their home course at the Mountain Dew Invitational. Fifteen total colleges competed with all 15 competing on the men’s side and 14 on the women’s. This totaled to 178 runners in the men’s 7800 meter race and 139 in the women’s 3 mile, with Florida’s men’s team finishing in 3rd and the women’s in 1st.
