Gainesville Compost, is giving away some food grown by its compost to celebrate its one-year anniversary. The event will be from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday at Tempo Bistro To Go, 1516 NW 13th St.
From 4 p.m. to midnight, both rookie and expert gamers flocked to the Reitz Union Ballroom to participate in GatorLAN, a video game tournament hosted by Gator Gaming. About 800 people attended; at any point during the day, there were about 150 computers in the room, said Gator Gaming president Ed Fonseca.
At a discussion Tuesday night about a controversial Gainesville power plant, even the youngest participant expressed concern.
