Traveling to the west coast for the NCAA Golf National Championships could have posed many problems for the Florida men’s and women’s golf teams. It is typical for teams to struggle when traveling long distances, especially across time zones.
Florida will make its fifth consecutive trip to the national championship tournament. The team will compete against the best in the country for the title of national champions.
Florida has established itself as a consistent presence among the best teams in college golf. While the golf teams may not dominate every tournament, they aim to compete and win every time they tee up.
Florida ties for third place with Virginia in the NCAA Regional Tournament. The Gators will play in the NCAA Championship Tournament for the first time since 2019.
Florida was able to excel in match play against LSU and Arkansas before falling to No. 1 seed South Carolina in the final round of the SEC Championship.
The glaring sun didn’t affect the Gators hailing from the Sunshine State as the team soared past the Rebels to pick up their second win in Oxford, Mississippi. No. 8 Florida faced No. 19 Ole Miss for game two of a three-game series.
Florida men’s golf found itself in the win column again after an impressive round three finish in the Calusa Cup. Senior Ian Gilligan and sophomore Jack Turner tied for third.
Sophomore Ines Archer led the Florida women’s golf team to its fifth regular season win of the season in the Chattanooga Classic this weekend.
The Florida Gators arrived at the Schenkel Invitational looking to repeat as champions. Last year, the team won this tournament with 27-under.
