Charlie Weis, University of Notre Dame head football coach, might punch you in the face if you ask whether he's responsible for the first 0-5 start in school history. You can't say you blame him, either - you'd probably hit back if he asked about your C-plus in calculus.

Why do we feel like we can do other people's jobs better than they can?

Lately there's been quite a bit of coverage on mistakes made in the college-football world.

Oklahoma State University head football coach Mike Gundy has received attention for his rant last week. After one of his quarterbacks was ripped apart by a sports columnist for The Oklahoman, he yelled at the columnist for making false claims about the young man.

How could the media attack a 21-year-old student for his performance, or lack thereof? The woman who wrote the article was never an NCAA quarterback, so how could she comment on his play?

She doesn't know what it's like to perform with pads and a helmet on with the entire team and thousands of fans hanging onto your every throw.

How could the rest of the media then blame Gundy for his YouTube-worthy reaction? He yelled and screamed at the woman for defaming a 21-year-old who, in his eyes, isn't yet mature enough to handle extreme negativity from a reporter.

At the press conference, Mike Gundy claimed not to read the newspaper. Should somebody who doesn't read critique a journalist?

If he's never been under the pressure of deadlines while suffering from writer's block, he can't tell her how to do her job.

This week, it will be all too easy to blame Tim Tebow, Joey Ijjas or Urban Meyer for Saturday's home loss against Auburn.

As tempting as it is to say that Tebow ran too much, Ijjas cost us the game or Meyer made questionable decisions during the game, remember that we weren't on the field - it's disrespectful to speak about their decisions.

I'll admit I've watched a movie and wondered why the director made poor decisions. I've gone into a restaurant and complained about the food.

I've even complained about a pilot not being able to handle turbulence better on a flight.

But I know I could never throw a football better than Tim Tebow.

Think about what happened last week at the Gundy press conference, and hopefully you'll think twice about speaking poorly of the Gators.

I'm sure when Gundy woke up the morning of the press conference, he didn't expect to be the laughingstock of the Internet, just as our kicker didn't wake up on Saturday expecting to miss a field goal.

If you still think the students who stepped onto that field deserve to be ridiculed for their performances, I'd like to invite you to try out for the football team next year. I'm sure the defensive line would be more than happy to show you how difficult its job truly is.

This week, just relax and let Meyer and the Gators do their jobs.

If you think Meyer didn't rip the whole team apart after the game, look up his speech after last year's loss to Auburn. Then look up what the Gators did the rest of the season.
