The aftermath of a loss

After losing to Arkansas Friday night, the Gators volleyball team dropped to No. 10 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll released Monday afternoon.

UF fell five spots from last week, and the No. 10 ranking is the team's lowest since the final 2006 poll.

UF coach Mary Wise spoke to the media Monday morning about the loss.

"You talk a lot about how we lost the match in game five and we had chances at match point - numerous chances at match point," Wise said. "But truly from a coach's standpoint, we lost the match going down 0-2 on the road.

"I take full responsibility (that) the team … wasn't ready to play."

UF rebounded last season from an early loss in Southeastern Conference play against South Carolina and did not lose again.
