First Sen. John Kerry came. Then it was Gandhi's grandson. Then Dr. Jack Kevorkian was promised to us. Now we're getting former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

We've gotta ask, Accent, when will it stop?

Hopefully it won't.

We must say, this year's lineup of Accent speakers is much more interesting than in recent semesters. The most interesting speakers during the 2005-06 school year were "Rent" actor Anthony Rapp and the über-conservative Ann Coulter.

We don't do this very often, but we're going to go out on a limb and compliment Accent on a job well done this year - so far. Gonzales' Nov. 19 speech will be his first college appearance since he resigned Aug. 27.

Accent chairman Steven Blank and his staff have done a good job this semester. Let's hope they keep it up in the spring. The bar is set, but we know Accent can raise it even higher.
