More on Markus Manson

Manson started his career at running back - he was the No. 15 back in the nation in high school, according to Scout.com. He played in 12 games as a redshirt freshman, and started twice. He finished the year with 365 yards on 81 carries.

Last season he accumulated just 15 yards on four carries, and he moved to defensive back this off-season. He saw very little playing time at the position, and moved back on Monday, possibly to replace Chevon Walker, who seems to be in a bit of trouble.

Here is the rest of what running backs coach Stan Drayton had to say:

"Everything around here is earn-based. If he gets out there and practices his butt off, he could earn the right to play this week."
"We've just got too many guys down. Traveling with just a couple of backs is really living dangerously. It only made sense. Markus has played the position, and he knows all that stuff. It was a low investment to bring him back over, so we did it. He's going to add some depth to the position, so that will be good."
"He feels like that's where he belongs. He made an unselfish move by going over there to defense where there was help needed at the time. Now, we're just happy to have him back at running back."
