UF fell just shy of upsetting No. 20 Florida State and the Gators will be left wondering what could have been after a 81-78 loss Friday night.
Senior guard Depree Bowden's potential game-tying three-pointer grazed the rim and fell short as the clock expired.
Marshae Dotson led the Gators with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while Bowden finished with 17 points. Sha Brooks added 13 (12 in the second half) and Sharielle Smith contributed 14 off the bench.
Next up: UF (3-2) hosts Stetson at 7 p.m. Monday.
