Three teams ranked higher than UF lost during the second round of the NCAA Tournament this weekend, causing the Gators to move up to No. 7 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Poll.
Hawaii, Wisconsin and Washington were all eliminated by lower-seeded teams, making room for UF to rise in the poll.
The Gators are also the only Southeastern Conference team left in the tournament after LSU lost in the second round and Alabama, Mississippi and Kentucky all lost in the first round.
Texas, the team UF will be playing on Friday night, swept through LSU on Saturday in Austin. Alabama lost 3-1 to Clemson, BYU swept Mississippi and Michigan State blew throguh Kentucky.
UF will face its second straight Big 12 Conference opponent in Texas after it defeated Oklahoma 3-0 Friday night.
