UF wide receiver Riley Cooper took batting practice with the baseball team before full team practice began.
Cooper's swings looked solid, and he even whacked a ball over the left field fence. He was wearing an orange No. 46 baseball shirt, but he is not on the team's roster.
Cooper, who had eight catches for 182 yards and three touchdowns this season on the gridiron, is not expected to play with the baseball team.
Football spring practice begins in March, and Cooper will likely not have time to play with the baseball team because of it .
The Philadelphia Phillies drafted Cooper in the 15th round of the 2006 MLB Draft out of high school, but Cooper signed up to play football for UF instead.
Still no word on UF basketball player Adam Allen's status for the baseball team. While basketball is still in season, Allen will not play baseball.
