Brian Amos’ column shocked me by its blatant disregard of the facts. Ronald Reagan, John Tyler and Herbert Hoover are not  first, second or third on the vast majority of scholars’ presidential rankings. A C-SPAN poll conducted in 2009 of presidential historians had Reagan at 10, Tyler at a measly 35 and Hoover at a slightly better-than-measly 34.

And how did Nicholas Gilman take an IQ test when he died 98 years before one had been invented? How can you expect someone to treat your argument as intelligent with such an obvious anachronism?

I also have a hard time believing a majority of eighth-graders could not find the U.S. on a world map. I don’t know where Amos is getting his information from, but if he is the product of private education, I’ll stick with my unconstitutional, communist public education.
