A 20-year-old woman died Friday night after being hit by two cars, according to a Gainesville Police.

Ramanda Medwinter, of Gainesville, was crossing Northwest 13th Street when a Ford pickup truck hit her at about 8:30 p.m. A witness told police Medwinter was hit again by another car that continued to drive north.

Police received a call about a woman lying in the road near Lowe’s, on the 2500 block of Northwest 13th Street, Lt. Marc Plourde said. Paramedics treated the woman before taking her to UF Health Shands Hospital where she died.

The investigation into who hit Medwinter is ongoing, and police are not releasing further details, GPD said.
