A Gainesville man was accused of robbing a man with a handgun Sunday.

Roddney “Rudeboy” Baugh, 27, threatened a 34-year-old Gainesville man with a black and silver handgun and told him, “You have 10 seconds to give me $50,” according to an Alachua County Sheriff’s Office arrest report.

After refusing to give the money, Baugh struck the man on the left side of his face with the heel of the handgun, deputies said.

The incident occurred at the 6000 block of Southwest 21st Lane.

Deputies found Baugh at a nearby house, and he agreed to talk to authorities after being read his Miranda rights, according to the report.

Baugh said he didn’t hit the man or have a handgun, but he did confront the man about being at the location where the alleged incident occurred, according to the report.

Baugh told deputies he was at the house because he was “charging his phone.”

Baugh was charged with aggravated battery, armed robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to the report.

He remains in the Alachua County Jail in lieu of a $175,000 bond.
