A Sunday evening fire at Faith Presbyterian Church has forced local election officials to move a polling location affecting 3,000 voters elsewhere.
Voting is now being moved from the church, which serves voters in Alachua County's Precinct 51, to another building on the church’s campus at 5916 NW 39th Ave., according to a press release from Kim Barton, Alachua County’s supervisor of elections.
The voting equipment affected by the fire will be replaced, the release read. However, Election Day voting and procedures will be unaffected by the building change.
Polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m on Election Day.
