Dennis Kane, also known as the “Turlington Dancer” was banned from campus for the next three years by University Police.
Kane, 42, was issued a trespass warning Tuesday afternoon after multiple students complained to UPD about his aggressive and loud behavior, according to an incident report.
On Monday, a student studying on the fourth floor of Marston Science Library heard Kane shouting on Turlington Plaza and emailed the police to report the disruptive noise. The student called Kane “the bald, unusual man in Turlington.”
On March 31, screaming Kane, red with anger, confronted another student on Turlington Plaza with a clenched fist after the student said something Kane didn’t like, according to the report.
On Tuesday, Kane saw the student again on the Reitz Union North Lawn and remembered him.
“You’d better watch out,” Kane said, pointing his finger at the student, according to the report.
The student reported the incidents to UPD, and police decided to place a trespass warning on Kane. This is the second trespass warning placed against Kane on campus; the last three-year trespass warning, given to Kane for “a threatening statement,” was issued in August 2012, according to Alligator archives.
Officers told Kane to leave campus Tuesday at 5:15 p.m. after a female student told police Kane was harassing her, according to the report.
Sgt. Tim Peck, a UPD spokesperson, said UPD had no reports of Kane returning to campus since the latest warning was issued.
