GPD conducts sting on underage alcohol sales

Seven store employees were issued notices to appear in court Friday night after police reported they sold alcohol to people less than 21 years old.

Florida's Division of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco supplied the Gainesville Police Department with people younger than 21 to go into 62 stores and attempt to buy alcohol, GPD spokesman Lt. Keith Kameg said.

Police charged employees at the following stores: Kangaroo Express, 2320 S.W. Archer Road and 3838 N. Main St.; Publix, 5200 S.W. 34th St.; Gate gas station, 3001 N.W. 13th St.; Econo Mart, 4105 N.W. 13th St.; Tim & Terry's Music & More, 1417 N.W. First Ave.; and Pats Kwik Stop, 4919 N.W. 34th St.
