UF center Marreese Speights will enter the NBA Draft, coach Billy Donovan said in a statement Tuesday. Speights, a sophomore, will not hire an agent which means he can come back to school if he does not believe he'll be picked high enough or is not comfortable with his situation. Speights was second on the team in scoring and first in rebounding. With several big-man recruits coming in, the Gators would've had decent depth at their bigs, but without Speights that has become much more difficult now.
From the just-when-you-thought-it-couldn't-get-any-worse category: Chicago Bulls forward and former UF 7-footer Joakim Noah reportedly had to be separated from Bulls center Ben Wallace after the team's blowout loss against the Orlando Magic last night.
Former UF forward Joakim Noah's crazy persona isn't sitting well with his new teammates. Noah was reportedly only going to be benched one game after the Chicago Bulls first-rounder got in a heated argument with assistant Ron Adams. However, after Noah sat in Friday's 100-97 win at Philadelphia, Noah's teammates unanimously voted that the former Gator should sit in Sunday's game against Atlanta as well. Bulls coach Jim Boylan gave his players their wish, and Noah didn't play.
