You’ve heard horror stories of naked, wrinkly men in locker rooms and couples using gym equipment for romping pleasures instead of waiting to get home. Although these exemplify two huge etiquette no-nos, they don’t quite compare to the reality of gym etiquette (or lack thereof) at UF.
There are only 24 hours in a day, and sometimes we feel like we desperately need more time. When you have to hit the gym in between work or class, a gym bag becomes your best friend.
Music can motivate more than your dance moves at Gator City Sports Grille. In fact, it can distract you from the pains of working out to enhance your athletic performance. Listening to tunes can also help elevate your mood and get you pumped, even before setting off to exercise.
When it comes to working out, there’s one important factor people tend to overlook: form.
It’s funny. I go to the gym to pump iron and increase my metabolism, but from what I’ve experienced at Southwest Recreation Center, some people go to run their mouths instead.
There’s just something about the word “run” that makes people cringe all the way to their feet. Don’t get me wrong; some of us love a peaceful evening run, but the other half of the population just can’t stomach the thought of running.
